The CNVD-LR uses a L3Harris Unfilmed white phosphor autogated tube with a min FOM of 2376. This is L3’s premier white phosphor image intensifier and offers incredible clarity and light transmission. When using clip-on night vision, the shooter is looking through multiple layers of glass and an image intensifier tube, all under magnification.
This is why when using clip-on night vision, the shooter needs a high spec tube with great clarity and resolution. The L3 2376 min FOM white phosphor tube accomplishes just that with amazing performance.
The L3Harris CNVD-LR is a clip-on night vision device that attaches in front of a magnified day scope. This gives the shooter the ability to use their day scope at night. The CNVD-LR attaches to a standard 1913 picatinny rail directly in front of the shooters day scope without having to move the day scope and re-zero the optic. This lets the shooter use the same rifle in both daylight and night time conditions. Because the unit is mounted in front of the day scope the shooter avoids changing optics and re-zeroing rifles. This is a huge advantage to using a clip on solution versus a dedicated night vision scope. The L3 CNVD-LR can also be mounted in front of a spotting scope. When used with a spotting scope the user has a night time reconnaissance and spotting solution.
The L3Harris CNVD-LR is designed as a middle to long range solution optimized for 2.5X – 14X. This allows shooters to easily make consistent target identification out to 500 yds plus with ease. The CNVD-LR can be used on higher magnification, however, the shooter will start to see a decrease in resolution and performance.
The CNVD-LR has very intuitive controls which allows the shooter to operate the device with ease based on feel alone. The unit has a rear facing power knob that doubles as a gain knob. This allows the shooter to turn on the unit while laying or standing behind the gun. The power knob has a detent preventing accidental activation and gives the shooter positive feedback when the unit is turned off. The CNVD-LR has a focus lever on the top of the unit which is very intuitive and easy to use while the shooter is still behind the scope and looking down range. Overall, the CNVD-LR is very well planned out and can be operated with very little movement by the shooter.
The housing is constructed with aerospace grade aluminum and high impact polymer which is powered by a single CR123 or a AA (with the provided battery cap adapter). The CNVD-LR is designed to withstand recoil up to 7.62 NATO.

The L3Harris CNVD (PVS-24) uses a L3Harris unfilmed 2376 minimum FOM white phosphor image intensifier tube. This is L3’s premier white phosphor image intensifier and offers incredible clarity, system resolution, and light transmission. When using clip-on night vision, the shooter is looking through multiple layers of glass and an image intensifier tube, all under magnification. Due to these factors a higher performing image intensifier tube will pay dividends for performance of the system and magnification capabilities. The L3Harris 2376 minimum FOM white phosphor image intensifier tube accomplishes these needs with unmatched performance.
